Greetings from Our Alumnus
Keith Kwok Man Yin
1. Christy: Can you share your personal
background with us? Which year did you
graduate? What is your profession now?
Keith Kwok: I’m a year 5 student, studying
for my Bachelor’s of Education in Music at
the Education University of Hong Kong. I
graduated from PESS in 2012. I’m studying
as a student teacher in music in PESS.
2. Chloe: Why did you come back to be a student teacher in PESS? How do you feel?
Keith Kwok: I didn’t choose to come back to PESS. I was assigned by my university to come back
here. I am glad to be here, because I really want to visit the teachers who taught me before. It’s a
very familiar place for me to work. If I had a choice, I would choose to come back too. Also, PESS
is a comfortable place for me to conduct my research. The research is conducted in all S.1 classes,
which is about the eff ecti veness of ‘Flipped Classroom’ in teaching music.
3. Ian: What is your happiest memory in PESS?
Keith Kwok: I don’t remember the happiest moment in PESS, but I want to share with you the most
memorable moment that I can remember. I went to Beijing for a music exchange tour with Ms Ng
and other schoolmates in S.4. During the tour, we joined with students from Beijing and played
musical instruments together. It widened my horizons because their performance was much bett er
than the ones in Hong Kong.
4. Christy: Who is your favourite English teacher? Why?
Keith Kwok: I have two favourite English teachers, Mr. Mak and Mr. David Yeung. Mr. Mak taught
me when I was in S.2. It was fun to att end his class and he always made us laugh. My classmates
and I joined the Hockey Club, which was launched by him. We used to play hockey aft er school. Mr.
David Yeung taught me for three years(S.4-S.6). I really appreciate his great eff ort in teaching us
to tackle the challenges of HKDSE. He spent a lot of ti me supporti ng us in preparing for the public
exam in order to get bett er academic results.
4.1 Chloe: I know you guys were / are also taught by Mr. Mak. What do you think about him?
Keith Kwok: During his lessons, we felt very relaxed. We learnt a lot of English words from him. He
also designed some games and played with us.
Ian: I like him too. He is a funny guy because he always tells jokes and makes us laugh.
