My First Day at MTCS

Time flies! I am now a Primary 6 student. I still find the memory of my first day at Meng Tak
Catholic School very unforgettable.
On that day, I felt very nervous because I was about to start my primary school life. When I
entered my classroom, I got butterflies in my stomach since there were so many ‘strangers’
in front of me. I didn’t even know how to communicate with them.
After a while, my class teacher asked us to introduce ourselves to one another. However,
I just sat in my seat and wondered if anyone would talk to me. To my surprise, a girl came
over and said she wanted to make friends with me. Oh, she was really my angel! It was how
I met my first friend at MTCS. Now, we are still besties.
Although nothing special happened on my first day at school, I still remember this special
day as it was a milestone in my life. Since then, not only have I gained lots of knowledge,
but I also have learnt how to be modest, trustworthy, conscientious and sympathetic.
In addition to our school motto, “Never depend on anyone except yourself” was what I
learnt from my class teacher on my first school day. As I grow up, I gradually understand its
meaning. I am really grateful for her teaching. Although there is still a long way for me to go,
I will bear in mind what I have learnt from all my kind teachers. Thank you, Meng Tak!

Time flies so fast. I have spent six years at Meng Tak. However, I still remember what happened to me on my first day
in Meng Tak.
When I arrived at school, there were many teachers and senior students waiting at the school hall. They were ready to
take us, the newcomers, to walk around the school campus. A senior-form student showed me around so that I could
know more about the school. At the beginning, I was a bit nervous because I didn’t know anyone. Then, I met my first
friend, Carson. We shared snacks and chatted happily in the playground. We are still very good friends now. Since
I knew more friends, I felt better and more relaxed. My classmates invited me to play in the playground during the
second recess. I was so happy and I looked forward to the next school day.
In these six years, my most unforgettable moment was the time with my ‘Big Sister’. Her name is Tsang Yuk Man. I
remember how she encouraged me when I was sick before my mid-term examination. At that time, I was very worried
because I might not be able to attend that exam. Tsang sent me a get-well card with the message, ‘Don’t worry, I will
always stand by you!’ I was so touched. Luckily, I recovered in time and I got good results in that examination.
I wanted to thank my principal and teachers as they devoted their love and time nurturing us. I particularly want to thank
Miss Li, my primary six Chinese teacher, because she is very patient when teaching me. She always encourages me
when my examination results are not satisfactory. She always motivates me to do better next time.
I enjoy my school life at MTCS very much. I remember all the moments I have spent with my beloved classmates and
teachers. I hope I will have a joyful secondary school life in the future.
