One day after school, Sachi arrived home to hear her parents talk. Curious, she hid in the corner of the room and
       listened to their conversation.
“He’s going to die soon if we can’t find anyone…” her mother sobbed quietly.
“We knew this was coming, please don’t cry now,” her father said as he wiped her tears away. Sachi could not
understand what they were talking about. She quietly tiptoed to her room pondering about it. “What did they mean by
that? Who’s dying? What was coming?” she thought to herself. Sachi shook her head and dismissed those thoughts,
thinking them unimportant and none of her business. She carefully closed her door.
Entering her room, Sachi slowly walked towards her bed and gently picked up a photo frame next to her bed - her
family photo. It was taken years ago when she and her brother were toddlers, so they still looked happy together as a
       family.
Suddenly, she heard a loud thud outside her room. She opened her door to see her brother laying on the ground.
       Motionless.
There were once two siblings, an older brother and a younger sister named Icarus and Sachi. Sachi was popular,
while Icarus was known as the nice kid at school. Although Sachi was popular, she felt lonely back home. She always
thought that Icarus would get nicer items such as new clothing or toys. The younger sister was jealous and it was visible.
Her brother tried being nicer to her but she had always refused his gestures and felt like their parents only loved him.
One incident left their relationship permanently damaged. When they were 8 and 10 years old, Icarus was playing
on top of a slide. Sachi was having a bad day, and for some reason, seeing her brother having so much fun infuriated
her. Standing behind him as he positioned himself on top of the slide, she decided to give him a hard push off the slide.
He screamed as he was caught off guard, landing painfully on the ground. Their parents came to check on them. Sachi
panicked and immediately regretted her actions. She knew her parents would not forgive her for this. However, when
asked if he was okay by their parents, Icarus, who had always been an understanding and loving brother, forced a
faint smile through the pain, and simply said, “I think I fell off the side. I’ll be alright.” Little did they know, their parents
witnessed everything. Both parents thought it would be best for them to grow up separately, fearing another incident. This
resulted in them never being able to bond with one another and eventually they grew distant.
Or that's how it seemed to Sachi, at least.
As the days turned into months and into years, they both grew up into teenagers. Sachi paid no attention to her
brother while growing up. When he tried talking to her, she would ignore him or look disinterested in what he had to say.
Although Icarus had always wanted to tell her something important, still he couldn’t bring himself to.
Not until it was too late.
