Singin’ in the Rain
       Message from Ms. Vivian Yung

       Head of Arts Education Committee

It is my honor to co-ordinate the annual event that is “Arts in
Action”. Special thanks must be given to the colleagues, the
production team and the student helpers involved, for their
hard work and dedication to the show. It has been a long, but
joyful and memorable journey from rehearsals to the show.
Over 240 students have taken part this year and the event
has been a real challenge for all of us. Over the last 7 years,
our annual “Arts in Action” show has proved itself to be a
valuable platform for students to shine on stage. In fact, over
a thousand students have had opportunities to prove their
talents and reveal something new to our audiences.
This year, we have chosen the well-known musical ‘Singin’ in the Rain’. It is a great
challenge for both the Percussion Band and the Musical Club members. We hope you
enjoy the Jazz music they have prepared so whole heartedly from the beginning of
the school term. I also hope you will appreciate the effort students put in to learning
their new steps; this is their first attempt at tap dancing on stage in front of an
audience. I sincerely believe that the time spent and effort used by students has been
worthwhile, and I am sure the experiences gained in the process will be treasured
by them for many years to come. We hope our show today can be entertaining and
memorable for each and every one of you.
       Enjoy the show!

       Message from Ms. Tobey Tong
       Teacher Advisor of Musical

“If you've seen one, you've seen them all,” said Kathy Selden,
who is one of the main characters in Singin’ in the Rain. This
statement neither holds true in the story, nor in any of Pooi
       To’s productions.
Singin’ in the Rain is a tuneful and entertaining story, which
contains everything to make it one of the greatest musicals
of all time. Supported by lilting melodies, wonderful dancing,
and a light-hearted storyline, we cannot resist tapping our toes or singing along to
this unique musical production performed by Pooi To girls!
I am glad to see students, the frontstage and backstage teams, and teachers work
harmoniously. It has not been all plain sailing, but with everyone’s hard work and
support, our girls are able to act, sing, and shine! I hope everyone will enjoy our
       musical production! Break a leg!
                                                                                 5
