                                                 Bats

            Animal Group:
            Bats are mammals.

            Habitat:
They like to fly around forests and caves
to find their prey, avoid their predators,
talk to their friends and mostly stand
upside down to spend time with their
            families.

            Diet:
They usually eat animals that are in
the animal group of insects, such as
            mosquitoes, flies and moths. But
their predators are owls. Owls like to
            eat bats.

            Body:
They are black, like night. They
have a black body, two black wings
and two black legs. However, their
eyes are white, like light! Now you know why
they only fly at night! It is to avoid the light and their predators.

            Special Features:
Even with eyes that are sparkly, bats can’t see well like we humans can. So they use their voice
to help them see. When they use a high “ping” noise, it means they are trying to find their way.
When the noise hits an object, it makes an echo so bats know there’s an object. They use their
body to camouflage and can even stand upside down!
