Typhoon Mangkhut
I woke up at my usual time on the sixteenth of September this year. I went out to the living
room and found my dad watching the news intensely. I asked him what was going on. My dad
said, “There will be a massive typhoon coming.” At that point, I did not believe him because
when I looked out of the window, the weather was quite calm. However, over the next few hours,
I saw several mini tornados spinning outside our living room window. I saw a lot of rubbish and
branches flying everywhere. Suddenly, several large trees fell down in front of my eyes. At the
same time, I could feel the building shaking. At that point, I started feeling scared.
Several hours went by. The weather started to calm down. We decided to venture out and
surveyed damage done by the typhoon. We saw that the front wall of our building had fallen
down, and several large trees had collapsed and blocked the main road. We even found a taxi
which had flipped over in the middle of the road. What a monster of a typhoon!
