English Activities held in 2017 – 2018
To increase students’ exposure to foreign culture and
develop their interest in English, we organized a great
variety of English activities throughout the year.

1. Summer English Study Tour
Our students took part in an English Study Tour
Cooking workshop
in July. The destination of ours was Brisbane in
Australia. 10 students from Form 1 to 4 as well
as 2 leading teachers spent their 15-day trip on
studying at a language school and visiting famous
attractions. Students therefore learnt the English
language and culture from real-life experiences.
Making friends with fellow English students and
host families definitely broadened our students’
horizons and helped craft an unforgettable lifetime

experience in their lives.
Summer English Study Tour
2. English Visits: AFS Intercultural Fair & Pizza Express
In November, exchange students from all around the world gathered in the fair and
showcased their unique cultural experiences. Through playing games and chatting with
foreign students, they had no doubt grasped a deeper understanding of cultures of various
countries. Also, in July, 20 students visited Pizza Express in Stanley. They had the chance to
know how a pizza was made and they even tried to make their own pizzas!

3. AFS Student Exchange Programme – A French Exchange
Student
To help broaden our students’ horizons, our school has
taken part in the AFS Student Exchange Programme. A
French student Solene Gaillard came and studied at our
school for the whole academic year. Besides having lessons,
she helped organize some cooking workshops and taught
elementary French during the morning assembly. Both our
English Visit-Pizza Express
students and Solene enjoyed a fruitful year!

4. Hong Kong Primary and Secondary School English Writing Competition 2017-2018
Our students took part in this public writing competition. At the end, Leung Wing Yi from 5D was awarded
the Most Creative Writer. Also, our school was awarded the Most Enthusiastic School Award – Silver. By
participating in this competition, our students grasped the chance to practise their writing skills and were
exposed to the current issues in Hong Kong society.
