To Make The World a Better Place

5B Leung Lok Yin, Maggie $ රρҕ

To make the world a better place, we
need to care and help others. Show them
we care. A simple act of kindness can make
other people’s lives better.

I arrived school yesterday morning
when I saw my classmate, Tom, was crying.
I went and asked him what happened. He
told me that he had lost his pen, a very
special pen, which was given to him from
his grandfather. He was sad and scared. I
asked him where he was this morning and where he might lose his pen. He said that
he arrived at school early so he strolled along the playground. There was no time to
help him fi nd his pen as the bell rang, we had to go to the classroom.

The pen was important to Tom so I decided to help him fi nd it during the break.
We walked along the playground, trying to see where he dropped it. We also asked
someone around to see if anyone picked up the pen. However, we could not fi nd it.
Tom was very upset, fearing that the pen will be lost forever. As we walked close to
the trees, I saw something shining near the bushes. I went to see whether it was Tom’s
pen. We were both very happy to see that it was his pen.
Tom thanked me for helping him. He was happy again. Helping people does not
only make others happy but also make oneself feeling good about himself.
