school campus on 18 May 2018. All S.1 students
and some Christian teachers participated in this activity. We
played, sang, shared and prayed together. With the assistance
of brothers and sisters from the Incubator Ministries, Shau Kei
Wan Baptist Church and Christian parents from our College
Parent-Teacher Association, the camp was well-organized.
Throughout the day, students were given opportunities to
experience God’s love, kindness and forgiveness.
Time to share with each other! All in all, it was a fruitful and meaningful day.
Career Guidance and Life Planning Committee
In a program led by the Career Guidance & Life-planning Committee and Hong
Kong Federation of Youth Groups, S1 students learned to recognise one’s assets which
include knowledge, skills and attitude, then scattered across districts in Hong Kong
island to see people at work with this new lens of appreciation. Their morning was filled
with unfamiliar sounds and smells that jolted them to reflect and appreciate the assets of
people outside their typical circle. From conversations with the locals at work, students
understood a glimpse of their lives and were encouraged to make purchases consciously
and support them. A memorable one includes students witnessing
a lady collecting cardboards in the sweltering heat. A few tried
to break the ice by assisting her trolley on the narrow road. She
was shy, yet the students’ warmth undiminished, they explained
their admiration in her strength and daily duty, then proceeded to
hand her a thank you card. Upon a sincere and simple utterance of
thanks, her eyes said it all. It was a meaningful outing hoping that
S1 students can acknowledge their assets as well as see the good
in others and voice out their appreciation in a world that is losing
interpersonal communication.
