House System

         House-brew Joy and Growth in

         Flying Colours

One feature of the current crop of youngsters that excels over the older
generations is their ability to liaise with others. This enables them to get
the opportunities not just to have fun, but to learn and grow through the
experience and expertise of others. A community with almost a thousand
people is certainly the ideal place to start with.

With this in mind, the House System was launched in September 2016. Four
Houses with names after four major Biblical figures — Isaiah, Moses, Samuel,
and Caleb — form the basic structure of the House System. All students from
S1 to S6 are allocated into the four Houses, each with a committee formed by
representatives from each Form, with the aim of enhancing vertical integration
by providing opportunities for younger students to learn from the invaluable
experience and knowledge of their big brothers and sisters, while nurturing the
leadership skills of the senior students.

Under the guidance of eight experienced teachers who dutifully take up the
posts of Heads of Houses, our first batch of House Committees took up the
daunting task of leading over 200 schoolmates in each House to participate
in various activities. Talents of different students have been taken care of,
with a wide variety of activities having been held. These include sports events
like the Annual Athletic Meet as well as dodgeball, football and basketball
competitions; cultural activities like debate, quiz on general knowledge, singing
          contests and even calligraphy competition.

Through these activities, we hope to provide more colours to the school life
of students. And we take the expression literally as well, as students may
choose to wear their respective House T-shirts as school uniforms, brimming
the whole campus with the four vibrant colours. Now in the second year of the
House System, we hope every student can paint their school life with their own
          mix of colourful splashes.
