More than a visitor
6A Kong Shuk Kwan, Ada
This is the first time for me to visit Malaysia. It is
a country with the a unique cultural background
compared to Hong Kong. Before I arrived there, I had
had a funny misconception of Malaysia – I thought the
mother language of Malaysian is Mandarin. However,
I found myself wrong after arriving in Malaysia. The
mother language of Malaysian is actually Malay, the
language that I never knew before. LAC Study Tour to Malaysia
Besides their languages, Malaysians' lifestyle is
also very different from ours. Unlike Hong Kong,
Malaysians do not live in hustle and bustle. They
never rush to work, let alone study. As a typical
student in Hong Kong, I was curious about their study
environment. What I observed was that they do not
have much pressure on their academic performance. Yu Lok Tung and Cheng Lee Lee.
I had lessons with them during the visit to Seri
Kembangan Secondary School, and I the interaction
among the students and also the teacher has inspired
me. This made me reflect on our attitude towards life.
Perhaps Hong Kong's economic growth ranks among
the best in the world. Yet, how about the happiness
index? We are diligent, we are efficient, but are we
happy? No, we are not. But the Malaysians are. They
know how to enjoy life. Although they do not work as 23
efficiently as we do, but they are way happier than all
of us.
The four-day trip to Malaysia has finally come to an
end. What I have gained is a lot more than just a Yu Lok Tung and her friends.
study tour, but a lifestyle, a challenge, and an attitude.
The most memorable
experience ever
6A Yu Lok Tung, Janice
The study tour means so much to me as it provided
a chance for me to relax. In the last school year, my
life just revolved around schoolwork. This was really
stressful to me. This study tour not only has relieved
my stress, but it also has broadened my horizons.
The most unforgettable experience for me is meeting
my buddy Cass in SMKSK. I am so glad to have met

about Malay culture. I attended M2 and Mathematics
lessons with Cass. The syllabus was quite similar to
ours but I didn't understand Malay, so Cass translated
what the teachers said to me. I had an enjoyable
morning and I didn't want to leave! Although the
students and I just met for a morning, we have
become friends. Till now, we keep chatting through
whatsapp and share our daily life with each other.
What is better than having a friend in another country!
This trip has inspired me a lot. Their living standard is
lower than ours but they know how to enjoy life. We
only live once. If we only spend time working, we will
miss the chance to explore the world and know more
about ourselves. I hope I can visit more countries so
as to become a better me and enjoy my life.
The local food is tasty!
