United as one to do our best

The 2016-2018 PTA EXCO has come to effect after the AGM at the end of
September. This time, there are five new parent members and many new faces
from the teacher’s side who joined us!
New blood brought in new spirit! We work as one and have turned things
around faster. For example, in the first side meeting to prepare for the first
PTA EXCO meeting, parent members, observers, and teacher members sat together for the
first time to form subcommittees and discuss plans for the coming year.
In the workplace, any newly elected committee that tries to accomplish human resources allocation
and the forth coming year planning within a meal’s time is quite a challenge. For the new EXCO, because
we all have the same goal to enhance home-school bonding, we were able to get it done efficiently.
Since we have only ten EXCO members each for parents and teachers, everyone has to carry more
than one duty. In Chinese, this is a saying “seven lids to cover ten pots”. Luckily, each of the members is
enthused to shoulder their responsibilities, which enables the PTA to function effectively and swiftly.
Boarding is a blessed yet very challenging experience of a SSC student’s life. Catering, safety and
school bus services etc. are all very demanding issues to be dealt with. The PTA has dedicated members
who work regularly to serve our students. However, we need more eyes and hands to make things better. I
hereby call for enthusiastic parents who are willing to help out in this regard to contact us at pta@ssc.edu.
hk. Any help is welcome!
As the Chairlady of this term’s PTA EXCO, I am very confident that we will work together to build a
stronger home-school relationship. Our tag line is: United as one to do our best!
