Dear Students, Fellow Staff Members, and Parents,

Thank you for having me at San Wui Commercial Society Secondary School.
I appreciate the welcome I have been received with.

My goal is to contribute and serve the students in the best way possible.
NETs usually bring a different and distinctive approach to English learning, in and
out of the classroom; I only request you to have an open mind towards a slightly
different teaching and learning style.

Like most, I came to Hong Kong in 2001 with a short term stay in mind. But
in a blink of an eye, it’s 2022 and I am still teaching here, while also loving the city.
I have experienced a lot over my two-decades of teaching. What I can say is - I
feel that my role as a ‘teacher’ is now becoming that of a ‘facilitator’. Presenting
facts and figures to students is no longer the primary goal; we have “Google” for
that. I would like them to enquire and apply the information they have acquired.

In a world where information is available at one’s fingertips, I want to remind
students, and instil in them a sense of respect and self-respect; both are different
but not exclusive. During my time with students I want students to be more
globally and locally aware, and work on their confidence in English.

Please come and speak to me. I am the kind of person who appreciates the
smaller things in life - like someone trying, like someone smiling and being kind
and appreciative. We have to believe in ourselves and simply try and do our best
in the time we are given.
