English Fai Chun
For Chinese New Year this year, we collaborated with the Chinese Department for
cross-curricular learning. Students were encouraged to write and create “fai chun”
using English. Using the Chinese calligraphy brushes to write in English was a unique
experience. The students had a good session brainstorming sayings and learning how
to say many Chinese New Year greetings in English, and practised with one and
another. They worked together to paint them beautifully on the red paper.
