2. English Café
English Café has provided students
with chances to practise English in a fun
and unthreatening environment. It is a
social space for them to meet, talk and
learn English together in an informal
and sociable way. Many students
enjoyed themselves at the English Café
at Halloween and Christmas. Also,
through the SCA CS certificate program (SCA Roasting Foundation Level), student baristas gained confidence and
were able to roast beans from light to dark roasting. In the future, that English Café could be developed into a brand ޲ ૑ ึ ኪ ʕ ᅃ ሒ ᔼ ৫ ௹ ฌ ዝ ଣ ᑌ ֣ ᐼ
and make contributions to the community.

3. English Speaking Scheme
Despite the pandemic, there were still
several sessions for students to talk to English
ambassadors in the academic year 2021 –
2022. Students could also chat with teachers
in English by making appointments with
them. With more than six stamps or teachers’
signatures, students could get a merit. Through
the scheme, students could have more
opportunities to speak English and enhance
their English proficiency on the campus.

4. 73 Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival
Due to the pandemic, participants had to submit videos of their performance this year. 92.3% of our students
who participated in the competition got Certificate of Merit. They gained confidence and became more interested in
learning English after taking part in the competition.

5. 3-day LAC Summer Programme
In the programme, students were exposed to the use of the English language in different subjects such as
Integrated Science and Mathematics. By expanding their vocabulary banks and learning how English is used
across the curriculum, students could learn more effectively.

6. Vocabulary Workshops
To help students expand
their vocabulary banks,
vocabulary workshops were
held at our Lecture Theatre. In
the workshops, students got
more familiar with the use of
different kinds of vocabulary
related to a number of hot
topics.
