By encouraging our students to take part in the Hong Kong
Schools Speech Festival, not only can we enhance their
sensitivity to tonal variation, but also their ability to appreciate
and enjoy literary works through research, discussion and
                             practice with teachers.
                             With the greatest determination,
                             the students have achieved
                             outstanding results and their
                             efforts are highly recognized by
not only the school, but also the
Teacher and Student Dressing adjudicators, parents and their
       Up as Halloween Characters
                             fellow students.
To cultivate an English-rich atmosphere, we also organized
different kinds of activities to nurture students’ interest in the Students Having Fun on the
language. On the English Fun Day, game booths featuring English Fun Day
themes such as international cuisine and travelling were set up on the ground floor for
students to have fun with their peers. In late October, the English Department held our
annual English Week, which featured a wide selection of amusing activities to celebrate
Halloween. Students and teachers dressed up as witches and wizards and played games,
such as the Form 1 Inter-Class Board Game Competition, Apple Bobbing and Tongue-
     Twister.

Our fun activities did not stop here. The English
Department organized a visit to Pizza Express in order to
extend students’ language learning beyond the classroom
and empower them to become conscious diners
making healthy and sustainable food choices. We also
collaborated with Typhoon Club to organize a programme
called ‘Hello From Me, Too!’ for students to experience
the unique festivals of Western countries. Each of the
An English Tour to Pizza Express participants received a colorful story book about festivals
around the world for their active participation.

Looking forward, we firmly believe that students’ interest in English will only be further
cultivated and students’ potential will be unearthed with the guidance of the teachers.
