英語科 獎項及成就


      English Debate Team

                                              Over the past 10 years, the YYC English debate
                                          team has proven that English debating skills are an
                                          essential credential to being an outstanding student. All
                                          our previous debaters have entered top universities in
                                          Hong Kong, studying in different disciplines including for
                                          example, medicine, dentistry, nursing, and journalism.
                                          A new line of debaters is now being nurtured under
            HKSSDC Junior Team Round 1    the YYC debating culture. Here is a summary of the
                                          achievement in 2018-2019.
          For Debating competitions, both our junior and senior teams took part in the Hong Kong Secondary
      School Debating Competition (HKSSDC). Our junior team became the Champion of Term 1 NT Division II of
      the competition.
          In October 2018, our senior team joined the Evershed
      Cup, together with many debating teams from prestigious
      schools and international schools. Our F5 debater, Zain Ul
      Abbadin managed to win one of the Best Speaker Awards. It
      was an outstanding achievement for Zain as it was the first
      time he took part in a debating competition.  HKSSDC Junior Team Term 1 Champion
          Apart from debating competitions, we have also achieved remarkable results in public speaking
      competitions. Five of our debaters joined the Public Speaking Competition (Open) in the Hong Kong Schools
      Speech Festival. Our experienced debater Aiman Nadeem was once again awarded the Champion of the
      competition. As for the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups Public Speaking Contest 2019, 14 of our junior
      and senior debaters joined the contest and they too have achieved good results. For our junior team, one
      student got into the District Semi-Final and
      two students got into the District Final. For
      our senior team, two students got into the
      Semi-final and Aiman Nadeem got into
      District Final. Given that it was the first
      time most of the debaters took part in this
      public speaking contest, the good results
