Mr. Poon Cheuk Yuet
Batdee Putanead Nicholas of 4B and Natalie Mi of
3A have performed brilliantly in the contest. Nicholas
has fi nished top fi ve in the District Preliminary Round,
top ten in the District Semi-Final Round and has
participated in the District Final Round. Natalie has
fi nished top fi ve in the District Preliminary Round and
has participated in the District Semi-Final Round.
The contest was held from the end of January to
the mid of February. While it is widely considered
an extremely challenging one even to EMI schools,
they have won two rounds or three out of around
500 participants in total. Despite being the very first
contestants representing our school in inter-school
public speaking competitions, they were highly praised
by the adjudicators. What a marvellous achievement!

reading buddy programme 2018 – 2019

The Reading Buddy Programme 2018 – 2019 has come to an end. This program is a paired activity which aims
at offering one-on-one reading time to S.1 students. There were in total 10 sessions, in which S.3 mentors guided
their S.1 mentees to read texts in different genres. Thanks to the assistance of their older brothers and sisters, the S.1
students’ confi dence in reading has been boosted. What’s more, they have found enjoyment in reading, which have
helped with their comprehension skills.

Both the mentors and mentees enjoy the
experience of reading English texts together.
