Foreword

by the Headteacher

The 2018-2019 school year marked the 150th anniversary of DBS. This was also a very fruitful
year for DBSPD in terms of our boys’ achievements in competitions of all levels.

This 2018-2019 issue of the Mini-Steps is an annual publication which chronicles our school
activities for this academic year. There are also a collection of commendable and interesting
works in English, Chinese and French by our budding poets and authors.

The work involved in editing and publishing the Mini-Steps requires the teachers of DBSPD to
work diligently for months. I would like to take this opportunity to extend my appreciation to
all members of the School Magazine Working Committee for their effort and fine work. I wish
to thank Mrs. Grace Ko, Chairperson of the Committee for without her inspiring leadership, the
work progress for producing this publication would never have been so smooth.

While I am looking forward to another successful and rewarding year ahead, it is my privilege
to share with you the happy school life of our DBSPD boys over the past year. I hope you would
find reading the Mini-Steps 2019 a great delight!
