          Through the study of Biology, students are expected to:  sampling technique and the skill in measuring physical
          -  develop interest in Biology;                     factors could be learnt. A visit to Mai Po Nature Reserve
          -  develop  scientific  skills  and  critical  thinking,   in winter time is also an unforgettable experience to
            which enable them to solve biological problems    them as they can look at the migratory birds in the
            independently or collaboratively;                 wetland as well as learn the importance of mangroves to
          -  be aware the importance of Biology to the society   the ecosystem. Dolphin-watching is another fascinating
            and are capable of making logical judgement in    activity as students can seize the chance to learn more
            solving biological problems;                      about this well-reputed creature.
          -  appreciate the beauty of nature and respect the
            environment and other organisms;                  Hopefully, from these learning activities, students can
          -  understand the responsibility of human beings in   appreciate the beauty of nature and be responsible for
            conservation;                                     the sustainable development of the environment.
          -  have a healthy lifestyle;
          -  become responsible citizens.


          Science knowledge comes from observation and practice
          and so experimental investigation is an essential part in
          studying Biology. Throughout the curriculum, students
          perform a variety of experiments including the effect
          of temperature on enzyme activity, extraction of DNA
          from organisms, estimation of transpiration rate of
          leafy shoot and finding out the food substances present
          in foodstuffs. Moreover, making use of microscopes to
          observe specimens and the preparation of specimens
          are also a must. Through these practical works,
          students are expected to master the skill of scientific
          investigation, which involve proposal of hypothesis,
          design of experiments, well-presentation of data,
          making interpretation and conclusion from the data.

          In addition to learning inside school, outdoor activities
          are also provided for the students to widen their
          horizon. They can join the ecology field trip from which
