th
It is my 12 year with KCCIS, helping our
students to progress through adolescence into
young adulthood. I guide students to develop
positive attitudes and skills to resolve issues
in personal, academic and social contexts,
which are important in making responsible
choices for themselves in the future. Students
have their diverse and often changing needs
that can broadly be divided into three areas:
personal & social, academic support, and
educational planning; all of which could be
interrelated.
I also plan and coordinate our PSHE program,
which is at the heart of our comprehensive
school counseling program. Career education
is integrated into the PSHE program for Year 7
toYear 11, while our IB students in Year 12 and 13 will hopefully make informed decisions
for their future based on knowledge accumulated in previous years via PSHE and
other enriching experiences. KCCIS is a caring community where students of different
backgrounds and abilities are valued and respected, and we share the view that students
should learn to respect differences. My simple wish is that students will grow up to be
responsible individuals and citizens who can contribute to this interconnected world in
meaningful ways.
I hope that this has been a positive and rewarding year for you all too.
