As my first year at KCCIS draws to a close, it is with a great sense of collective
achievement that I write in our yearbook.
It is said that school days are the happiest days of one’s life. A yearbook is a memory
book which records, highlights and commemorates a happy school year – a year in a
nurturing community. In years to come, our students will be able to reflect on 2017-
2018 and how they participated enthusiastically in: class assemblies, the school choir,
Book Character Day, the Christmas Fair, Chinese New Year Celebrations, the Battle of
the Books, the Battle of Science, the Drama Festival, Sports’ Day (and all the sporting
events), Arts Evening and the creation of this wonderful yearbook. The KCCIS students
are a reflection of international education, where the development of the whole person
is what counts and where the academic results improve through participation in creative,
physical, emotional and social activities. Year on year, without necessarily realising,
vibrant, creative and resilient young people are emerging out of the KCCIS experience.
The only way to learn is to be happy in one’s learning and in one’s school. Congratulations
to the KCCIS students for your desire to learn and the willingness to put in the hard work
to learn well.
To those students who are moving onto new schools for the next academic year, I wish
you happiness and every success and to those who are staying, I look forward to sharing
an even more successful year with you all in 2018-2019.
