Art Week
On the first day, we did sketches in a park and in areas
of Hong Kong filled with culture, which is often
hard to find. This allowed students to polish their
observational drawing skills. For the rest of the week,
we stayed in the studio developing more artwork. We
made a collagraph, which was quite challenging for
most, due to time constraints, but it ended up much
better than anyone expected. This was followed by
a monograph, which was even more challenging, as
the preparation was very time consuming. It entailed
sketching a design of your choice on piece of paper
with printing ink onto another piece of paper, so
the design would transfer. The last piece we did was
a collaborative painting with other people from the
art workshop. The people in each group were people
who hadn’t previously interacted, so the experience
was a way for new friends to be made, and teamwork
skills to be challenged.
