Vision Background
To build a better Hong Kong. Dashun Foundation, a government-approved non-
profit-making charitable institution approved under
Objective the Inland Revenue Ordinance 88 with exemption for
not showing “Limited” under Companies Ordinance
By bringing together talents and professionals (Cap 622), was founded on 12 May 2011 by a body
from different sectors, we seek to analyse and put of university presidents, prominent academies,
forth considered and balanced views, constructive successful industrialists, community leaders and
comments and pertinent recommendations on public senior professionals from different sectors with a
policy issues, and we make contributions towards shared mission of promoting and contributing to the
services for the elderly, the young generation and the long term interests and sustainable development
underprivileged. We actively participate in activities of Hong Kong. We aim to achieve our goal with
related to “Belt & Road Initiative” and Guangdong- the guiding principle of “professionals united for
Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area. enhancing the economy and people’s livelihood” in
establishing a platform for professionals to contribute
to the long term benefits and sustainability of Hong
Kong.
Being a large multi-disciplinary group of
professionals, Dashun strive to contribute towards
building a better Hong Kong. We are committed to
serving our society with a focus on its economic
development and people’s livelihood. In our work, we
will not compromise impartiality.
Dashun Foundation is named after Emperor Shun
of ancient Chinese legend. It was said that Emperor
Shun experienced much hardship in his childhood.
He never gave up but persisted in working hard
and striving for excellence. Emperor Yao was very
impressed by Shun’s modesty, wisdom and sincerity
and thus appointed Shum as his successor. When
he took office, he ruled the country with the utmost
