交通安全隊展紀律

七十年代創校初期，黃大仙區內設施配套不足，加
上學校處於半山位置、校外街道陡斜和過馬路的設施不
足，令交通意外容易發生。此等因素促使學校成立、發
展交通安全隊。

聖文德書院交通安全隊成立於1973年，至今已經有
四十八年的歷史。回顧過去，種種經歷讓本校交通安全隊
有所成長。對所有隊員來說，點點滴滴也有很深的意義。

交通安全隊透過嚴格而全面的訓練，提升學生道路安
全意識，培養克己自律的精神，成為奉公守法的好公民。

本校交通安全隊屬於香港交通安全會（Hong Kong
Road Safety Association下稱交安會），是香港唯一促 1974-1975陸運會服務
進行人交通安全的志願團體。現今交安會的贊助人是香
港特別行政區行政長官。 Road Safety Patrol was about to be established in
1973. I was much honored to be appointed as the
supervisor by the Principal Fr Howard, a remarkable
ex-chaplain in the American army with strong sense
of discipline and obedience to orders.

I myself together with all team members were much
vigilant and doing hard in his eyes of ‘surveillance’.

1981-1982交通安全隊 Every school day the patrol members should be on
their duty in kilter with punctuality and co-operation
to guarantee the school mates’ safety of crossing
the road in front of the school gates. Their vital
contributions were fantastic and miraculous, for so
far no road accident was in record.
The performances of the Road Safety patrol
members were much lauded for their tremendous
efforts in their services at school. And also, they were
enthusiastic to join the Annual Parade organized by
the Association, once before in a year Fr Howard and
1982-1983交通安全隊 I were much ecstatic to their outstanding matching
competition, in which they won the second runner -
up title among more than fifty participating schools in
Hong Kong.

I retired in 2010. Those graduate members have
had close contacts with me. I’m so happy to know
some of them are successful in their working
professions as medical doctors, teachers and senior
cops. In addition, I‘m so grateful to know about the
present patrol members at school, under the keen
supervision and behest of Miss Leung, are doing well
in their duties.
