The English Department
The famous linguist, Benjamin Lee Whorf, once said, ‘Language shapes the way we think and
determines what we can think about’. To nurture our students to become competent English
users and critical thinkers, the English Department seeks to provide every opportunity for
students to better their English.
Learning English Through Different Activities
In the past year, the English Department seized every opportunity to incorporate fun
elements into English learning. Students are keen on joining different activities like
Shakespeare Drama Workshop, English Week etc. in which they learn more about foreign
cultures and how to exercise their creativity. The beaming smiles at the end of the day show
how much fun students derive from these activities.
