喜訊 —我們的新老師

除了教育局安排的一名外籍英語老師駐校外，本校額外增聘兩位外籍英語老師 (Native-Speaking English Teachers)，
三位外籍英語老師分別任教兩個級別，每星期與同學進行不同類型的英語學習活動，以增加同學運用英語溝通的機

會，從而提升英語能力。
Hello, I am Mrs Somerville and I travelled all the way from Brisbane, Australia along with my husband, Philip.
Philip and I have two grown up sons who also live in Brisbane. They are very familiar with Hong Kong, having lived here previ-
ously and they are very keen to visit once travel is possible again. Both of our boys are married to
wonderful daughter-in-laws and we have three beautiful grandchildren. I am really looking for-
ward to seeing them again soon.
I have many interests because I love learning new things. My greatest passion is sport. I love
moving and staying active. Philip and I do lots of walking and we are hoping to explore the many
mountain ranges and country parks in Hong Kong. Art, cooking, reading, writing, listening to music
and dancing are some of my other interests.
While I am living and working in Hong Kong, my aim is to learn Cantonese. I also want to
learn more about Chinese Art and cooking.
It has been delightful meeting the children of Fung Kai Innovative School, especially my P1
and P2s who always bring a smile to my face. Mrs Somerville

‘G’day, my name is Philip Somerville. I have accompanied my wife, Elizabeth, to Hong Kong,
all the way from Brisbane, Australia.
I have two adult sons and three grandchildren. I was looking forward to having my family
visit us this Christmas but unfortunately holiday travel is impossible, as we all know.
Nevertheless, I am very pleased to call Sheung Shui home. I like shopping in San Hong
Street, visiting the Liu Man Shek Tong Ancestral Hall and going birdwatching at Long Valley.
Over the years, Mrs Somerville and I have completed many long distance walks in Australia,
the United Kingdom and in Hong Kong. It is my ambition whilst in Hong Kong to complete all the
stages of the Maclehose Trail as well as walks in the Lam Tsuen and Pat Sin Leng Country Parks.
I am very interested in cricket and football and have been a proud supporter of Norwich
Mr. Philip
City Football Club all my life.
It has been a pleasure meeting the well-mannered and responsive children at Fung Kai who have been very willing to say ‘G’day’
back to me!

Hello, my name is Mr. Terry. I am a teacher from a cold place called Minne-
sota in America. I came to Hong Kong over a year ago and love my life here. Hong
Kong has so many different things to do, I have trouble finding enough time to do
them all!
In my free time, I like to go hiking, watch movies, take pictures and learn new
forms of design. I started to learn how to draw a few months ago, and have had
lots of fun with that. I also need help with my Chinese skills, so don’t be afraid to
offer me any help! Mr. Terry

開學快三個月了，偶爾會有同學問我是誰。這次我可以跟大家自我介
紹，我是今年新入職的中文老師，我叫羅穎琪。本人有幸得到校長及副校長

給予機會，能夠加入鳳溪創新小學。
我從小就非常喜歡中文和中國歷史文化。我認為中文的漢字世界浩瀚，
通過細味作品中作者的一字一句，我們能從中感受到跨越時空的情感，體察
作者的心情。希望在未來的課堂上，能夠和各位同學在學習中一起感受文字
