Message from the principals

It is said that ‘He that travels far knows much’ . With

this idea in mind, we organised the Po Leung Kuk
Joint School New Zealand Study Tour 2020.
One of the aims of the tour was to fully immerse

students in an authentic English language
environment. Immersion in a new and foreign
environment provided the students with many
opportunities for growth. The students not only
could improve and practise their language and

communication skills but also learn to take care
of themselves outside of the family; and solve
problems under the supervision of teachers. By

experiencing the culture of New Zealand, students’
understanding of the wider world broadened, they
developed a greater understanding of the local
culture and the outside world. Now they can identify
better, the differences and similarities with our

world. They have experienced an environment and
          culture different to their own.
Before departure of the study tour, there were

confirmed cases of coronavirus(Covid-19) in Hong Kong and no confirmed cases in New
Zealand. After coordination with parents and travel agencies, we decided to take strict anti-
epidemic measures to allow students to continue the trip under safe and hygienic conditions.
We thank all those involved in the organisation of the trip for their hard work and extend a thank
you to the students and parents for their cooperation in making the study tour a success!
