Alongside the many school-based English activities that we have conducted over the years (such
as festival celebrations, special assemblies and themed fun days), we have implemented several literacy
programmes which were developed by the EDB NET Section. These have provided many enjoyable and
interesting learning opportunities for the students whilst giving them the chance to be immersed in a
language-rich environment. They have also helped us to enhance the teaching of literacy by integrating
a systematic approach to phonics and process writing as well as introducing e-learning elements. As we
continue to develop the English curriculum in our school, we hope that even more students can continue
to benefit from different kinds of activities and can truly learn the language skills that they will need to be
successful in the modern world.
