Foreword
by the Headmaster
“Together we must learn how to compose
differences, not with arms, but with intellect
and decent purpose.”
Here in the safety of Hong Kong, we have
the fortune not to face war, but the words of
Eisenhower still rings true.
In a society so often split by differences, it is
our mission now, more than ever, to equip
the young minds of tomorrow with the
skills needed to overcome a difference of
opinion.

In the classroom, in the playground, even
afterschool working on projects, our children
are learning the very skills crucial to the shaping
of their communication skills and leadership
when they grow up.
Our young talents at DBS have come from
different backgrounds, all bringing their best
foot forward, to learn in the Diocesan family.
Our dedicated teachers play the vital role of
helping our students sharpen the tools needed
for communication, negotiations, clarifications,
pacifications, compromisations, strategizing,
questioning, and critical thinking. They learn
about our world through history, in science,
and in the arts, where the great minds of
and beyond our time have come together to
work, united, under the mission of creation, of
invention, of problem solving.
In learning, all are equal. In learning, we
reconcile our difference. In learning, we
celebrate our differences.
